49ers News: Jimmy Garoppolo stays with the 49ers via NFL network in 2021

On Saturday, we see Mike Garafolo of NFL Network go on television and say that his sources have heard the 49ers plan to continue with Jimmy Garoppolo next season:

Initially, no one knew what to make of Garafolo after the Stafford rumored 49er rumors over the past two weeks.

Then, late Saturday night, the Los Angeles Rams acquired Matthew Stafford of the Lions. The Rams dropped Jared Goff, and although Los Angeles will not select a first round for eight years, McVay continues to get his team year in and year out after the playoffs.

There’s no way the 49ers give up so much Staff Capital. I could only imagine the rage this morning when Stafford was traded to San Francisco. We no longer have to play so hypothetically.

Former ESPN reporter Josina Anderson tweeted on Saturday morning:

The 49ers would not be the struggler. However, it should be noted that one of the first round picks was probably due to the download of Goff’s contract. Peter Schrager of the NFL Network reported that Stafford want to play for the Rams.

Matt Maiocco said he heard the 49ers were not serious players in the acquisition of Stafford a few days ago. Maiocco said he has no doubt the Niners are interested early on, but they are not going to go ‘all-in’ like the Rams preferred.

It’s Sunday morning and Garoppolo is still the 49ers fullback. The Texans said they have no interest in trading Deshaun Watson. Garoppolo is not going anywhere unless an upgrade against San Francisco is available at an affordable cost. I do not believe there is a cost that Watson is not worth, but he is the only quarter you could say that for.

If it’s not Watson, it would seem the Niners are going with our first off-season plan where Garoppolo starts the season, and the 49ers set up a rookie early in the NFL draft.
